Travels around teh internets: Link fun round-up

Some things are too crazy/funny/cool not to share. If you do nothing else, at least watch the video at the end.

Today in Literary History: Stephen Crane dies of tuberculosis in 1900.

The desk on which Charles Dickens wrote Great Expectations is sold at auction for $850,000. Proceeds will go to a children's hospital on London.

Butterflies! I love butterflies. In Greek, the word for butterfly is (phonetically spelled) petaludia, which means flying flower.

I love this picture. Every time I get all droopy about the state of affairs here in the US, I remember in parts of Britain, everyone is photographed all the time on cctv. This picture makes me laugh and shiver at the same time (via):

Pulp's "Common People," performed by William Shatner in a video mash-up using footage from the classic cartoon. Please watch. Boing Boing called it slash, but I know slash and this is just plain fun:

Don't have time to watch the video but certainly will this evening. Love Star Trek and even William Shatner. ;-D

That William Shatner's done some stuff - I still cringe when I think of his Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds.

I don't think that starship trooper picture is from a CCTV camera, 'cos the picture's far too clear. They have installed such rubbish that they are pretty well useless.

Glad I managed to post something to amuse everyone.

And for the record, I never thought that pic was from CCTV, just the whole, you know, storm troopers, cops, British thing made me think of surveillance and death stars and you know what? I'm a total nerd.

LOL That was hilarious! I have a confession. I actually have that William Shatner CD. LOL Hey, it's Captain Kirk, man! Someone gave it to me as a gag Christmas gift but I really like it.
