Just a little piece of advice

If someone says to you, "I'm really an asshole," don't view it as an emotional challenge to get beneath some self-loathing exterior only your kindness and understanding can save.

What they're really saying is: "One day I'm going to do something hurtful to you and when you look at me with your how could you eyes, I'm going to say, 'hey, I told you I was an asshole!'"

They are not warning you, they are proud of it.

That is the truth. Believe me.
